I was born and raised in Southeast Louisiana, just outside the Greater New Orleans area. After my parents separated when I was 1, my mother raised me. My father worked with computers inspiring an early love for technology, while my mother was a hairdresser and makeup artist which taught me to care for my skin, hair, and health. Both sides of my family deeply influenced my upbringing.
My paternal grandparents ran a small bait shop, selling shrimp and supplies from a camp accessible only by boat, while my maternal grandparents lived on a few acres of land, where they gardened and hunted. My maternal grandfather managed a grass-cutting crew for the parish, and my grandmother worked in a shrimp factory. My early upbrining was quite rural and I grew up with a significant part of my diet being wild and time spent close to nature.
I was the first in my family to graduate from college, and after three years of teaching, I decided to leave my career to become a Stay-at-Home Mom. Later, I transitioned to homeschooling my sons while helping build our family business, which we started in 2002. Behind the scenes, I handled the business finances and organization, balancing work and family life.
It was during this time that I developed a strong faith walk and began learning how to heal, handle finances, raise a family, and cope with the challenges that life gives us. As a college educated woman, I struggled with walking away from a career to devote my time to my family. I learned what it means to be overworked and the importance of self-care for the health and benefit of my entire family. I also learned what it truly means to love and that success always comes at a price.
As my sons entered high school, I returned to work full-time, and I now run my own business in the financial industry. I’m passionate about helping others succeed and supporting women in embracing their choices. Whether as mothers, individuals, or professionals, I believe in empowering women to thrive in all aspects of their lives and look forward to a lifetime of lifting women up.
